Significant resources and training have been invested by UCATIP members to achieve this improvement;
Identifying and Investigating Cases
UCATIP members play an important role in finding and identifying trafficking cases. Through engagement with vulnerable communities, and has developed networks of contacts with journalists and local leaders.
Specialist Trafficking Desks
UCATIP members assisted in the creation of specialist trafficking desks within the Ugandan Police Force and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, including the resourcing, training, and funding of these desks.
Tools and Materials
Tools and materials have been developed by UCATIP members to provide guidance and practical assistance for justice sector officials in the identification, investigation, and prosecution of trafficking cases.
Training
Many UCATIP members have conducted training for police, prosecutors, judges, immigration officials, CSOs, health teams, local cultural and religious leaders, and government officials at the district, sub-county, and village levels.
